FINTECH + INTEGRATIONS / CASE STUDY
Personal finance, connected and protected.
Backend delivery for credit monitoring, debt-payoff planning, budgeting, and savings automation.
The product challenge
A personal-finance app brings sensitive account information and day-to-day money decisions into one experience. Its backend must connect external accounts while enforcing appropriate access to that data.
What I built
- Built backend features for credit-score monitoring, multi-account debt tracking, budgeting, and automated savings goals.
- Added bank and credit-account linking, a debt-repayment simulator, and alerts for due dates, large transactions, and score changes.
- Implemented authentication and authorization, encryption at rest and in transit, and device- and location-based access controls.
- Led MVP delivery through launch.
Engineering approach
The implementation combined authentication with contextual access controls and encryption at rest and in transit. These are the security properties described here; they are not a claim of end-to-end encryption.
Delivery & outcome
Shipped the backend for the launched personal-finance MVP, connecting account data with planning and alerting features.
